Dineen Vineyards is located in the hills of the Yakima Valley just north of Zillah, Washington. We are a small family owned and operated viticulture business devoted to growing the finest wine grapes in the area. We have dedicated partnerships with our winemakers who consistently produce highly-acclaimed wines from our fruit. In addition, Dineen Vineyards produces a limited amount of estate bottled wine under our own label.
The Story of the Black Truck
The Black Truck is a memory from Pat Dineen’s childhood growing up on a farm in Wisconsin. The 1950 ½ ton Chevrolet, 5-window, blue streak with sun bonnet is a replica of Pat’s father’s very first truck. Edward Dineen purchased his truck after World War II when Detroit returned to civilian vehicle production. Soon after acquiring the first vineyard, Pat purchased what is now referred to as “Grandpa’s Big Black Truck” from a horse farm in Tacoma, Washington. The Truck is a significant symbol of the Dineen family’s ties to agriculture through many generations. In addition to maintaining a prominent place on the estate wine labels, the truck plays an active and key function during winery events and has become the emblem for Dineen Vineyards.
